Simon Young - About Me
I am a semi retired RAF pilot - with 3 grown up children - so am familiar with many of the trials and tribulations that life can throw at you! I am a qualified Clinical Hypnotherapist and use a combination of Hypnosis, NLP and energy therapy to understand and resolve many anxiety related and well being problems that can affect people at different times of their lives.
Hypnosis - the Experience
We will discuss the experience of hypnosis in our discovery/assessment call - its merely a more relaxed and focused state of mind similar to that experienced during meditation or when you focus on a task and become unaware of activities around you. It is this change in state and focus that allows us to communicate more easily with the unconscious mind to make the rapid and long term changes needed to mood, beliefs and habits.Most people are completely aware of the entire hypnosis experience throughout and normally report how super relaxed and light they feel afterwards. Just the simple experience of entering a hypnotic state alone can help relieve anxiety and stress - often the root cause of many other issues. To achieve successful outcomes from hypnosis there has to be strong commitment to change from both of us - I will do everything in my power to facilitate and guide the change for you, but you must also commit fully to the change for it to work! Going into hypnosis itself is quite quick and is a very safe and uplifting experience.I still do face to face hypnotherapy if requested, but most of my sessions are completed online using regular video conferencing such as Zoom, Face-book Messenger Video or phone apps such as What’s App Video. Normally conducted in the comfort of your own home or office, with no expensive and time consuming travelling. We will discuss this in more detail on the discovery call where i will explain that this is at least, if not more effective, than face to face meetings - particularly if anxiety is a factor. It’s perfectly safe and has now become standard practice across the industry since COVID.

GENERAL ANXIETY - often the underlying issue behind many problemsNormal levels of anxiety are present when we want things to go well in our lives and are an important driver in producing short term performance hormones like adrenalin. However, when these levels of anxiety or fear increase or become overwhelming it can have a detrimental impact on many aspects of our lives - at work, play and relationships. Symptoms of anxiety include negative thoughts or emotions, mental and physical fatigue/exhaustion, problems with socialising, public speaking, exam nerves, sleep issues, weight gain, and lack of confidence/low self esteem. The good news is that hypnotherapy, and other techniques, can help address these issues - often very quickly - enabling you to take control and live your life to the full. Our work can target specific feelings or memories or in the case of more overwhelming general emotions look at a more general emotional detox - which is often enough to get people on the right track to recovery!
SLEEP - The key to health and mental wellbeingGood quality sleep is crucial to physical and mental health. Over 40% of the western world population don’t get enough. We will look at improving how you set yourself for a good nights sleep as well as dealing with any issues like intrusive thoughts or anxieties that prevent initial sleep and also waking in mid sleep. A lot of sleep problems are down to formed habits which can be changed through hypnosis.
IRRITABLE BOWEL SYNDROME - IBSIBS can be a life limiting condition for many. There is strong evidence that stress and anxiety can have a huge impact on the severity of symptoms. There is also equally strong research showing that Hypnotherapy can help to significantly reduce symptoms - and dramatically improve the daily lives of those with the condition.
GRIEF - providing the help needed when someone gets stuck in the grieving process and can’t move onEvery one who experiences personal loss goes through the grieving process - this is a normal thing. However, sometimes people can get stuck within the process itself and are unable to move on. A number of different methods can be used help people get through the process - allowing them to move on with their lives with a set of personalised and appropriate feelings towards lost ones.

After our session i had the worst sleep ever but im going to chalk that up to battling with COVID!!
